Frank Chimero: There is a Horse in the Apple Store →
viafrank:
There is a horse in the Apple Store and no one sees it but me.
I think, “Why?” What is the villain here that blinds all of these people to this situation? Am I nuts for thinking this is exceptional? Does anyone else see this? Did I accidentally drop acid and not realize? I must take a photo….

Clients From Hell: A Cautionary Tale →
This hits a little too close to home…
I’m sure none of you are strangers to being asked to do favours for friends and family. I’m here to tell you that while there’s nothing wrong with doing a favour for someone you love now and then, always draw up a contract and terms of service, no matter how small or minimal the project. I don’t…

Jonathan Bush: People who throw around the term "fanboy" to passive-aggressively argue with someone's opinion crack me up.
A fanboy is someone who likes everything someone or something does, no matter how good or bad it is in reality. This does not apply to me. There are some things about the show I dislike. Rachel's character goes over the top sometimes. Finn's vocals are often way too autotuned. More to the point, autotune is overused all around. Some of the musical arrangements aren't the best. Some of the musical scenes are really really hokey, so much so that I almost cringe. And on, and on....
But, overall, I think Glee is a funny show. I was in choir with the girl after whom Rachel is modeled. (Or, at least, I'm convinced I was. lol) I can relate to some of the social drama that goes on within the group. I think Sue Sylvester's character is possibly the most brilliant comedy character I've ever seen. And on, and on.
Some people don't like the show, and that's fine. I understand that not everyone gets the humor in it, and I think no less of them for it. It's a niche comedy....it's going to have its haters by nature. So, please treat me with the same respect and don't label me a fanboy. I'm not.

Jonathan Bush: Forgive me if that was out of line. But, I'm tired of people saying they feel sorry for me liking Glee or talking about how it's Kidz Bop for adults or stuff like that without putting forth a mature argument. I'm not saying you (Krikett) can't. It's just you said the wrong thing at the wrong time. :) about an hour ago

Two Ways of Seeing Benny Lava
I started a course, called Idea Process and Criticism, with a simple topic in mind. I was thinking along the lines of water, or ocean. But the very first day, one of the three professors says, “When you choose a subject, pick something you love. Something you can’t keep off your mind. Something you’re obsessed with.”
